Career

Blade Mann-Dixon, Owner of BMD Goaltending, grew up playing minor hockey in Antigonish.  He was a member of the Antigonish Minor Hockey Association until his bantam season where he was part of the inaugural Nova Jr. X Men.  Blade spent two years playing for the Nova Jr. X Men (2010-2012) before moving on to play one memorable season with the Major Midget Cape Breton West Islanders (2012-2013). In the spring of 2013, Blade travelled to Quebec where he represented Nova Scotia as a member of the U16s at the Quebec Challenge Cup. At the age of 16, Blade was drafted 1st overall in the MHL to Valley Wildcats. With only 4 wins their previous season, Blade backstopped the team to the playoffs and he received the MHL Rookie of the Year honours. That season, Blade was also selected to represent Canada in the World Jr. A Challenge in Kindersley, Saskatchewan and the U17 WHC in Sydney, NS. The following year he was drafted to the Saint John Sea Dogs, which kicked off his QMJHL career. Over the next four years he played for the Moncton Wildcats, Charlottetown Islanders, and finished off with the Halifax Mooseheads for 2 seasons. In total, Blade suited up for 100 QMJHL Games, posting a 52-33 record. Post Major Junior, Blade spent 4-years with the StFX X-Men while earning his BA in Forensic Psychology.
